Listing and editorial policy
Countertop Locator exists to help homeowners compare countertop fabricators fairly. These are the rules we follow.
Who gets listed
- Any business that offers countertop fabrication and installation to the public can be listed. Basic listings are free, and no business pays to be included.
- Related businesses (for example a kitchen-and-bath showroom or a slab yard) are included only when their own website or a state license shows they offer the service.
- Closed businesses, parked or broken websites, and links that turn out to belong to a different business are removed when we find them.
Where the details come from
- Services, prices, hours and policies come directly from each provider's own website and are refreshed monthly. We write descriptions in our own words and never copy a business's text.
- A feature (such as "slab yard on site" or "waterfall edges") is only shown when the business's website clearly says so.
- Prices are shown exactly as each business publishes them. A dash means the business doesn't list that price, not that it doesn't offer the service.
- If a website covers several locations of a chain, we don't show branch details that might belong to another location.
What the badges mean
- Verified badges are matched to a current record in an official source (a state license register or an industry accreditation body). Each listing shows the license number and a link to check it with the state.
- Other credential badges (such as Insured, Bonded or Fear Free) are credentials the business states on its own website. We show them as stated, not verified.
- A license confirms a business is registered and subject to state rules. It is not a rating of quality.
Order and featured placements
- City lists show featured listings first, then businesses with their own website, then everyone else in alphabetical order.
- Featured placements are paid and always labeled "Featured". Payment never changes a business's details, badges, prices or whether it is listed.
- We don't accept payment to remove, hide or change accurate information about any business.
- We don't publish ratings or reviews, and we don't rank businesses as "best".
Advertising
Countertop Locator is free to use and may show clearly marked ads. Advertisers have no say over listings, guides or price data.
Guides and price data
Guides and price reports are written by Jimmy Ellis, the site's founder, and are based on the prices and details businesses publish. They are updated as the data changes and are never paid for by a business.
Corrections and removal
If something is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it, usually within a few days. Businesses can update or remove a listing, and anyone can email help@countertoplocator.com.
Details can change between updates. Always confirm prices, requirements and availability with the business before you book.
